The city Planning Board last night delayed for two weeks a decision on the proposed Queen City Landing project on the city's Outer Harbor.
Lawyer Marc Romanowski presented the board with an amended plan which would cut some of the height of the planned 23-story complex and a shift of the entire complex 25 feet further from the harbor.
Attorney Arthur Giacalone, who has been opposing the Outer Harbor project, believes there are too many unknowns.
"We do want this site cleaned up. But, we believe we should have full information on what's there. It shouldn't be hidden," Giacolone said.
"It certainly shouldn't be hidden from this board as while you are being asked to approve a project. It makes no sense to approve this project and then wait to see what happened with the DEC investigation."
Romanowski says project sponsors have permission to build and could go ahead on the original plan on the site of the demolished Freezer Queen buildings but want to move that 25 feet to avoid foundations from the old building and for that they need permission.
"It's almost impossible for us to render a decision based on what was presented today," said Planning Board Chairman James Morrell, prompting the panel to delay their decision.
