Slipping in national polls, Trump appears strong in Upstate New York

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump could do very well across Upstate New York. That's according to State GOP Chairman Ed Cox.

If he's elected, Trump is vowing to scrap the North American Free Trade Agreement because he says NAFTA has stolen jobs and ruined the U.S. economy. That stance, Cox says, is in stark contrast with his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

"Forget what she says publicly," Cox said, pointing to recent revelations from Wikileaks that Clinton has been in favor open borders and open trade.

"That what she said to a Wall Street group. That's what she's really for," Cox said during a recent visit to Buffalo.
He believes Reagan Democrats are now becoming Trump Republicans.

"Take New York City (voters) out of the race and the huge majority that Mrs. Clinton will get there and we've got a fighting chance all across Upstate New York and we're going to do very well."

Cox says there's a huge grassroots enthusiasm for the Republican presidential candidate. He says he hasn't seen the kind of grassroots support that Trump has since 1980 when Ronald Reagan won the presidency.
