On Sunday morning a number of people gathered in downtown Buffalo for a run to benefit a local Alzheimer's research organization.
The three-year-old charity called Run Jimmy Run began at 10 a.m. at One James D. Griffin Plaza on Washington Street. The race is a 5k run and 1 mile walk that honors past Buffalo mayor Jim Griffin. Griffin was Buffalo's longest serving mayor who died after a battle with dementia.
Proceeds go to the Western New York chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
