The Williamsville pain management practice of Dr. Eugene Gosy is closed for two weeks. The closure notice is posted on the practice website.
Gosy was arraigned in federal court, where he pled not guilty to 114 counts against him. Federal prosecutors accuse him of issuing thousands of illegal prescriptions for the past several years.
Lead defense attorney Joel Daniels says they will prove every case involving opioid prescriptions was legitimate. Daniels says Gosy serves more than 10,000 patients and deserves credit for providing the pain management that other doctors will not.
Gosy has surrendered his DEA license, disqualifying him from issuing opioid prescriptions. The practice website says appointments will resume Monday, May 16.
