The Erie County Sheriff's office is investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Colden. It happened Tuesday afternoon on Center Road, between Blanchard and Partridge roads.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a damaged vehicle in a driveway and another in a roadside ditch. The driver of the vehicle in the ditch was initially transported via ambulance to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital and later transferred to Erie County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The rear passenger, 28-year-old Chauncy Kloiber of Wales, was pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger, a female in her late teens, was extricated from the vehicle and flown to ECMC with multiple injuries and was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Unit of the Sheriff's office.
