Daily mail at the Albany office of State Senator Patrick Gallivan contained an unwelcomed surprise on Monday morning. Gallivan’s Communications Director Jim Ranney said the Senator’s office manager opened an envelope addressed to Gallivan, which contained an “unknown substance and a non-specific threat.”

State police were notified of the situation and came to the office. They are conducting a full investigation.

Gallivan was not in the office at the time of the incident, and no injuries to any staff were reported.

Ranney said the Albany office is open and conducting business as usual.

Avery began his broadcasting career as a disc jockey for WRUB, the University at Buffalo’s student-run radio station.
