County officials look to uncover state records from November storm

Erie County Legislators are pushing Albany to release records of state efforts to fight the November 2014 blizzard which buried much of the county with up to seven feet of snow.

Legislature Chairman John Mills who represents much of the snow area says the Majority Caucus knows what Erie County did but wants to know what the state did or did not do.

"I personally feel nothing really got done on a timely basis," Mills maintained.

"It's no different when we had the vehicles stuck on the 90, two or three years ago for hours on end, including one of my drivers, for 16-17 hours. So, the state has to ratchet up and they have to communicate with our DPW."

Mills says that communication is needed so county leaders can, in turn, tell more local governments what's going on. He says Albany isn't cooperating in releasing records.

There was no response to a call to the governor's office about releasing the snowstorm records.
