Reed calls for tax reform in 2016

Through his work on the House Ways and Means Committee, Congressman Tom Reed is able to take credit for work on tax policy to help farmers and small business. Now, he'd like to see wider tax policy changes in the coming year.

"We need to reform the code 'cause it's broken," Reed said during his weekly conference call with reporters.

"No one can defend the code in its total and that is something we're going to work for and make sure that we do good policy because we care about individuals and businesses and making sure that they have a tax code that works for them as opposed to against them."

Reed says Ways and Means is "keying up" to tackle the issue in the coming new year. The Corning Republican says creating certainty in the tax code will lead to jobs and help people make ends meet.
