Buffalo Police are investigating a potential link between a fatal shooting and a later crash on the Kensington Expressway.

Police say the shooting incident occurred just before 8:30 pm last night in the 300 block of Purdy Street.

Police say an individual kicked open the door to a home and opened fire, killing a man and injuring a woman.  The woman was taken to ECMC.

A short time later, Police say a vehicle flipped over on the westbound 33.

Police believe the vehicle may be connected to the shooting on Purdy Street.

One individual is in custody and a weapon has been recovered.
