New York's Attorney General is being criticized by Rep. Chris Collins after Eric Schneiderman ordered DraftKings and FanDuel to stop taking bets in New York.
Collins says the House Energy and Commerce Committee he sits on has oversight and jurisdiction over consumer protection.
"We pass laws. That's not something the Attorney General does. So, this, in my opinion, is a significant overreach on Mr. Schneiderman's part," Collins said.
"In fact, I'm sure the sports leagues will probably move to get a restraining order against him."
Schneiderman says daily fantasy sports are not licensed by the state which means they're engaged in illegal gambling.
Collins says the Attorney General once again proved he is "focused on grabbing headlines."
