Halloween will be celebrated at the Buffalo Zoo this weekend. Children are encouraged to dress in costume and to come and take advantage of 15 different treat stations that will be in place throughout the grounds. Children always have fun with their costumes, but Buffalo Zoo Public Relations Director Rachel Gottlieb says that there are others at the zoo who look forward to seeing them as well.

"The animals take interest in seeing how the kids are dressed up. So, when there's kids in costume the animals seem to notice, and they are a little bit more interactive. So, I'm interested to see how Luna will be interacting with some of the kids in costume this year, and the gorillas really like seeing the kids in costume. So, it's a really good time."

The Halloween party is free for children along with regular zoo admission. There will be a small additional charge for hayrides and face painting.

The festivities are ongoing today and tomorrow from noon until 3 PM.

Saturday & Sunday 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
