Delaware Park audio tours now available

Chris Caya WBFO News

Delaware Park visitors can now take a self-guided audio tour of Frederick Law Olmsted's award-winning masterpiece.Stephanie Crockatt, executive director of the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, says maps and instructions for mobile device users are posted at 13 sites around the park. Crockatt says people can take the tour in any sequence that they want.

"They can pace it out. They don't have to keep up with a tour guide. They can just walk and enjoy and take in the sights and sounds on their own," Crockatt said in making the announcement at the park's Rose Garden Tuesday morning.

Each story is told in about one minute. Sites include the Marcy Casino, the Statue of David and the Mighty Oak in the Meadow.

The Conservancy partnered with the City of Buffalo on the project, which is sponsored by M&T Bank.
