Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul visited Buffalo on Friday in recognition of National Senior Citizens Day. She visited the Cheektowaga Senior Center, and engaged with a number of the visitors there. Much of the conversation revolved around the transformation that Buffalo is experiencing. Volunteer Russ Dixon was asked about the local renaissance and if he believed he'd one day see the progress.
"I have to say yes.
I really thought they would. Sooner or later, people were going to get smart and say 'Ya' know, we can fix this,' and they are doing it well, slowly, because it costs a lot of money, but I mean, they're doing it slowly. We're headed in the right direction."
Hochul also emphasized with the residents Governor Cuomo's efforts to increase training for home healthcare aids and his work in streamlining the state's Medicaid system.
