Buffalo City planners will take public comments later this month on a $70 million residential project in the Buffalo-Niagara medical corridor. McGuire Development Company is proposing the six-story, 152-apartment complex called Campus Square at the corner of Ellicott and North Streets. McGuire Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Jeffrey Lehrbach says the units will be the first residential space available in the area.
"This will provide housing for graduate students, affordable housing for seniors as well as apartments for workers at the Buffalo Niagara medical campus that may come in from other cities," says Lehrbach.
"They tend to work different shifts. They'll have a grocery store, restaurant, coffee shop, bank branch, drop off and pick up dry cleaners all contained within their building that they live in."
The Buffalo Planning Board has scheduled a public hearing on the project for April 21.
