Winter Weather Advisory: Snow, freezing rain, sleet on the way for your ride home

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory beginning at noon Tuesday until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Meteorologist Tony Ansuini said snow will change to freezing rain and sleet by drive time Tuesday afternoon before eventually switching over to rain by evening.

Ansuini adds, "We're going to warm up through the day today. We'll see the warmest temperature of the day occur this evening. We'll go above freezing for several hours. Actually, that'll be the warmest we've seen in Buffalo in nearly five weeks.  The last time we were above freezing was 38 degrees back on January 29."

Ansuini said the warmer temperatures and rain may result in some ponding where storm drains are blocked with snow but he does not anticipate any major flooding issues.
