WBFO News

Catholic Health is working to sell the St. Francis Nursing Home in Williamsville to Comprehensive Health Management in Long Island. However, members of 1199 Service Employees International Union want assurances before the sale is consumated. Members of the union have voted to send a strike notice to the new owner should specific conditions not be recognized. SEIU Vice President Todd Hobler states, "if we do not receive an agreement with the employer or a guarantee from the employer that they will protect jobs, recognize the union and negotiate a contract following the sale," this would trigger the strike.

Comprehensive Health Management has not responded to the strike notice.

Catholic Health is moving to eliminate long-term care from its business plans.
