New York Senator Tim Kennedy has made an about-face regarding unemployment reimbursements following the November storm. Kennedy initially announced that reimbursements would be available for anyone who lost wages during the storm. The Senator admitted confusion after the State Department of Labor countered the region did not qualify for wage benefits in its disaster aid coverage. Kennedy said he will pursue the issue when he returns to Albany this week.
Unemployment claims will be reviewed by the Department of Labor on a case-by-case basis.
