The Bills 22-9 loss to Miami Thursday night may have been painful for fans, but there were at least a few uplifting moments during the broadcast when the NFL aired a story about how Buffalo has inspired former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.

The Hall of Fame quarterback has endured the anguish of oral cancer twice. Kelly has had numerous surgeries and most recently found himself battling MRSA. Kelly says he is in endless pain.

In a story that aired during the game's broadcast last night, Kelly told the NFL Network, "There's not a family around here any bigger than a Buffalo Bill family. Everywhere I turn, there's people praying for me. There's people that give me well wishes. To be honest with you, I don't know if I'd been able to make it anywhere else."

Kelly's wife, Jill, added that returning to Buffalo from a hospital stay in New York City was a turning point for Kelly that brought him back from his darkest moments.
