One animals dies, others recovering following last week's raid on Getzville Kennel

The majority of animals rescued by the SPCA during a raid last week on a Getzville kennel are recovering well, although there is word that one chinchilla has died.

During the raid last week on the Dodge Boarding Kennels, SPCA Spokesperson Gina Browning talked about a chinchilla, noting "it looks like different species of animals are suffering from individual problems. For instance, a chinchilla that's here on site looks like it's severely malnourished, possibly because it couldn't eat because of its overgrown teeth."

Another animal, a dog, was reunited with it's family after officials realized it was being boarded at the Dodge Road kennel.

SPCA officials reportedly say other animals from the rescue will be put up for adoption when they are healthy enough.

More than 70 animals were rescued including dogs, cats, rabbits and turtles. Officials also found numerous dead animals bagged and tucked in freezers.

A tip led SPCA officials to investigate the kennel.
