Two people are dead following a head-on collision on Route 18 in Newfane.
Niagara County Sheriff Deputies report two cars slammed into each other along Route 18 between Hess and Phillips Roads about 7:30 a.m. Monday, closing the road for a time.
Officials have not yet released the victim’s names.
A dog was also killed in the accident.
