Bike & skate park honors teen killed by drunk driver

Bryce Buchholz, 14, was remembered as family and friends gathered for the official opening of a BMX Bike and Skate Park in his memory Sunday.  The teen, an avid BMX enthusiast, was riding his bike along Lake Avenue in Lancaster on a May evening in 2012 when he was struck and killed by a drunk driver.

Family and friends mourned his loss and then decided to turn their grief into something more.  They called on the community to pull together, raising more than $300,000 for construction of a bike and skate park  to be located at Keysa Park in the Village of Lancaster.

During opening ceremonies, Bryce's father urged people not to drink and drive as he remembered his son.  The Bryce Buchholz fund is hoping to raise additional money to expand the park.
