The Seneca Gaming Corporation is making a significant financial commitment to help promote local tourism by providing $3 million in funding to Visit Buffalo Niagara. The funding is part of the Senecas' downtown casino deal with City Hall.
"There will be shots of other areas, but the portions that are being dedicated to VBN are specifically Buffalo related," said Seneca Gaming President and CEO Cathy Walker, at a Thursday morning press conference at the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino.
Visit Buffalo Niagara President and CEO Patrick Kaler says the agreement will triple the tourism group's advertising budget.
"There will be much more print advertising than what we've been doing. We've been doing quite a bit of online, electronic media. So this will allow us to do some TV advertising, newsprint advertorial in some publications, as well ," said Kaler.
Seneca President Barry Snyder says tourism is a central building block for a "new Buffalo." Snyder says the Senecas want everyone to know that Buffalo is "a great place to be."
