With its three finalists hailing from Thailand, Ukraine and the United States, the JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition is living up to its name.
After two years of sifting through submissions from all over the world and two nights of performances by semi-finalists at the WNED-TV studios, three finalists have been named in the Falletta Competition.
Ukraine's Marko Topchii, Thailand's Ekachai Jearakul and American Chad Ibison will take part in Saturday's final at Kleinhans Music Hall.
Each will get the chance to perform with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under Falletta's direction on Saturday night at 7:30.
