Governor Andrew Cuomo is announcing that local law enforcement agencies along with State Police will be increasing patrols on area roads over the holiday weekend. Authorities will be cracking down on impaired and distracted drivers. Cuomo states that highways are very busy for this holiday, and every effort will be made to make travel safe for all drivers. An initiative called the Stop DWI Crackdown will be put into effect, and law enforcement will be vigilant on patrols.

The "Buckle Up New York" campaign will be enforced as well. Cuomo encourages everyone to drive safely.
