Paladino quick to criticize Astorino candidacy

A day after he announced that he will seek the GOP nod in the 2014 governor's race, Rob Astorino will make his way to Buffalo. His candidacy, however, is not getting the endorsement of one notable area Republican, Carl Paladino.

Paladino is backing real estate mogul Donald Trump, saying he can beat Andrew Cuomo; Astorino can't.

He believes Trump is right on all of the issues and would get rid of the "RINOs" (Republicans in Name Only) who he says are holding the G-O-P back.

Paladino says the party Establishment will bail on Astorino as it bailed on his 2010 gubernatorial campaign.

"He's (Astorino) intent on moving things along. I think he's a good man. I think he's right on most of the issues," Paladino said.

"I just don't like one thing about him and I don't think he's being a realist. I think he's been swayed by the wrong people to think that calling out and denouncing and purging the party of the RINOs shouldn't be the first act of the candidate."

Paladino says Republican leaders in Albany, especially Senate leader Dean Skelos, are too compromised by their dealings with the governor.
