Brooks' mother faces investigation

The fallout continues in the aftermath of the tragic beating death of five-year-old Eain Brooks. Brooks' mother, who recently gave birth to a girl, has reportedly been forced by Erie County Child Protective Services to place the infant in the care of relatives.

According to The Buffalo News, the county agency has begun an investigation into Nora Brooks' care of Eain Brooks prior to his death.

Matthew Kuzdal, the man described as Nora Brooks' boyfriend, has been charged in connection with the beating death. Kuzdal is the father of the infant.

The move comes just days after an upheaval at Child Protective Services, where county officials say two case workers were fired for allegedly failing to intervene on behalf of Eain Brooks despite repeated calls of concern from family members.
