WBFO News

Officials with National Grid are reporting that a lightning strike is responsible for the power outages around the region. Thousands in Buffalo and the near suburbs went dark earlier today. Crews are working on the problem and the utility estimates that power will be restored at around 10:45 this morning.

Motorists are reporting that a number of traffic signals have been disabled by the outage. Police remind drivers that any intersection without a working traffic light should be treated as a four-way stop.
