Flood Warning for Erie County

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Warning for Erie County.  The warning is posted until 3 p.m. Saturday.

The warning is for urban areas and small streams in the Western New York area. It includes Amherst, Buffalo, Williamsville, West Seneca. Tonawanda, Lancaster, Lackawanna, Kenmore, Hamburg, East Aurora, Depew and Cheetkwoaga.

The warning also includes Western Genesee County, Niagara County and Orleans County.

An urban and small stream flood advisory has been issued for Chautauqua counties, including Dunkirk, Jamestown and Fredonia.

Doppler Radar indicated a large area of moderate to heavy rainfall across the region. Rain will continue through early Saturday afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches in some locations is expected.  This will fall on top of the one to two inches of rain that occurred in the overnight hours.
