A prescription drug discount card, accepted at thousands of pharmacies, is now available free for anyone in Western New York. Buffalo Common Council President Richard Fontana says on average, the card provides a 47 percent saving on prescription medications. He says the WNY Rx website lets people compare prices at different pharmacies.
"This is a great, great card, a very powerful tool for resident to save money. There's no downside here. They either save money or they don't. Even people with prescription drug coverage, if they have high co-pays, this could potentially save them money, as well," Fontana said.
The card can be used by anyone who lives, works, or is visiting the region. It is available to everyone regardless of age, income or health insurance status.
People can obtain a card at libraries across the region or it can be downloaded from WNYRx.com.
