The City of Buffalo and Erie County say they have received assurances from Rural Metro Services that ambulance service won't be interrupted even though the company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The company issued a statement Sunday night announcing it has come to a financial agreement that will allow it to continue providing service.
"We're going to keep on monitoring the situation," said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz..
"The Erie County Emergency Services Department was active this weekend to assure that if a bankruptcy filing did happen, that there was no change in service delivery. There appears to have been no change in service delivery."
Mayor Byron Brown says his administration will also continue to monitor the situation. Like the county, the city had a back up plan ready when the Teamsters went on strike at Rural Metro.
Rural Metro provides services for most Erie and Niagara County communities.
