Buffalo firefighters responded to a two-alarm blaze in a downtown neighborhood this morning. Authorities state that a kitchen fire was ignited just before 5 AM in a third floor apartment at 220 Niagara Street. Residents throughout the building exited the premises as smoke filled the structure. No injuries have been reported, and damage to the building is estimated at $35,000.
Investigators continue to search for the cause of the blaze.
