The Western New York region has lost another soldier who served in Afghanistan.
Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas Reid, a Brockport native, was pronounced dead in a German hospital on Thursday. The 26-year-old soldier was being treated for injuries sustained earlier this month from an improvised explosive device. Reid enlisted for service in 2006 and was serving with the 53rd Ordnance Company of the 3rd Ordnance Battalion.
He was on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.
