One man was killed and another injured when a three-ton steel beam fell Thursday afternoon at a work site at the former location of the Bethlehem Steel Plant in Lackawanna.
46-year-old Sabahudin Ramulic of Tonawanda was struck by the beam around 5 p.m. after it fell from an overhead crane. He was declared dead at Mercy Hospital. 26-year-old Patrick Barker suffered broken legs in the incident at the site of Linita Design and Manufacturing.
According to The Buffalo News, the company has been cited for two recent work site violations by OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The accident is under investigation.
