Western New York's oldest sports organization will be celebrating its 100th anniversary today.
The West Side Rowing Club has been training rowers for generations. The list of rowers from the club include many elite competitors, including a number of Olympic participants. Buffalo native Tom Terhaar coached the US Women's Eight team to a gold medal in this summer's Olympics.
Mayor Brown has declared today to be West Side Rowing Day in Buffalo.
