Wallenda scouting locations for Falls attraction

Chris Caya/WBFO News

Daredevil Nik Wallenda is back in the City of Niagara Falls for the first time since his high-wire stunt over the Horseshoe Falls two months ago.

The purpose of the visit is to scout out possible locations for a family entertainment center.  While the attraction could end up on either side of the river, Wallenda says his heart is on the U.S. side.

"We're talking with a lot of local businesspeople on both sides. This would be my preference, for sure. It's clear that we need something exciting and happening over on this side, and this would definitely be that," Wallenda said Thursday.

Wallenda says the entertainment center would have a circus theme and his family will be part of the show.

"It would be a more theatrical, new age [show], like Cirque du Soleil does," Wallenda said. "But involving, of course, high wire."

The daredevil says his goal is to open a temporary facility in time for next tourist season.

Wallenda's successful walk across the Niagara Gorge on June 15 was seen by millions on national television.
