A portion of the Erie Canal in Orleans County remains closed this morning as work continues to stabilize a canal wall near Albion.
Boat traffic has been suspended on the canal between Holley and Albion and water levels have been lowered to allow repair work to continue.
Sink holes reportedly developed on some of the roadways adjacent to the canal.
Canal officials have not given a timetable on when the waterway will re-open.
