Trooper saves toddler

The decisive action of a New York State Trooper helped save the  life of an Erie County toddler.

State police report Trooper Christopher Sullivan's CPR efforts helped to revive a 23-month-old child who was found unresponsive in the family pool in the town of Boston Tuesday evening.

In a news release issued by State Police, Trooper Sullivan arrived on scene and found the child to be unconscious and not breathing.  He immediately began CPR and was able to partially revive the child.  Moments later Boston EMS arrived on scene and relieved Trooper Sullivan.

The child was transported to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY, where she is currently listed in critical but stable condition.  At this time, the child is expected to make a full recovery.

Troopers say an investigation revealed the incident to be accidental.  It was the quick actions of the child’s family, Trooper Sullivan, Boston EMS, and all others involved that contributed greatly to saving this young life
