Here's something to ponder on this Valentine's Day. Loneliness can be bad for your health.

Studies have shown a link between isolation and illnesses such as heart disease and strokes. But an associate professor of social psychology at the University at Buffalo says romance is not the only way to forge social  bonds.

Dr. Shira Gabriel is associate professor of social psychology at the University at Buffalo.
