"The best is yet to come," according to Dr. Candace Johnson, who is marking her first anniversary as President and CEO of Buffalo's Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Johnson says over the past year, Roswell's reputation has helped in recruiting several new leaders.
"You recruit one person and then they tell someone else. I think the word has gotten out that we're on the rise. We're here to stay, and so I think it's all part of our success over this past year," Johnson said Wednesday.
Johnson says revenues are up and new patient visits increased 21 percent last year.
The hospital leader also announced a new collaboration between Roswell and the Buffalo Medical Group and a public health/community education initiative with the Buffalo Sabres.
