Dr. Donald Trump, the president and CEO of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, is retiring.
Roswell officials released a statement early Monday evening that said Trump will leave his post on December 31st. Trump has served as president for more than seven years.
Board Chair Michael Joseph credits Trump for keeping Roswell on course at a time when the economics of health care have never been more challenging. Joseph said clinical revenues increased under Trump's leadership while patient care programs were enhanced.
Trump's decision to retire follows the successful renewal of the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Center Support Grant, which Roswell announced on July 1.
Joseph said the institute will now embark on a national search for Trump's replacement.
