Interim Buffalo Schools Superintendent Don Ogilvie continues the search process for a new deputy superintendent. WBFO'S Focus on Education reporter Eileen Buckley says that person could become the future superintendent.
"That deputy will be the next permanent superintendent of schools," said Buffalo School Board Member Carl Paladino.
Ogilvie launched his search with a job posting and application available on the school district's website. But that next candidate could be selected from current school staffers.

"I think he has made it very clear -- we're looking inside. We're going to interview anybody from the inside who believes they want to be superintendent of the schools," noted Paladino.
At a recent board meeting Ogilvie offered a timeline for hiring a deputy superintendent. Those who applied would be interviewed as early as the week of March 23rd.
There is much speculation that this deputy superintendent could become the next schools superintendent.
But Board member Theresa Harris-Tigg said the board has not talked collectively about who should be the next leader. "We just have not done that. I think there are people out there," said Harris-Tigg.
Deputy superintendent recommendations would be presented to the board by March 29th. Ogilvie told the board he would like to have new deputy superintendent start by June 1st.
Ogilvie initially signed on for two-years as interim, but some believe he could exit the district at the end of this school year.
