It's a new era at SUNY Buffalo State as a new president has taken the helm. Dr. Katherine Conway-Turner previously served as provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Hood College in Maryland. She also served as provost at SUNY Geneso. WBFO's Focus on Education reporter Eileen Buckley met with Conway-Turner, who was recently appointed to serve as the ninth president of Buffalo State.
As Dr. Conway-Turner begins her new position, the college broke a record for the number of enrolled freshmen for this school year. Close to 1,900 freshmen signed up for classes surpassing the more than 1,500 set back in 2009.
"We certainly have the largest number of first year students ever in our history, so that was really very exciting to see," said Conway-Turner in a WBFO News interivew.
