Another local man has been arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection at the nation’s Capitol Building.
The FBI said it arrested Daniel Warmus of Alden Tuesday after receiving information from a tipster.
The criminal complaint against Warmus says the tipster overheard Warmus talking about his experience during a visit to his dentist. He also played video of himself participating in the Capitol riot.
Warmus runs an automotive shop in Orchard Park. Daniel Warmus Sr. is the immediate past mayor of Alden and now a village trustee.
The junior Warmus is charged with Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds without Lawful Authority, Knowingly and with Intent to Impede or Disrupt the Orderly Conduct of Government Business or Official Functions, and Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds. These are all misdemeanors.
He was released from custody Wednesday, after appearing in federal court in Buffalo.
Also arrested locally on similar charges was Thomas Sibick, 35, of Buffalo. He pleaded not guilty in April and remains held until his next court appearance June 4.
