Cheektowaga dinner date goes very wrong when girlfriend 'unintentionally' shot

Texas de Brazil

Talk about your bad dates. Cheektowaga Police were called to a Walden Galleria restaurant Thursday evening because a man was carrying heat, but not the kind you find on a plate.

Police said Anthony Ciccarelli, 19, was having dinner with his girlfriend about 6 p.m. at Texas de Brazil. The Tonawanda man reached into his front pants pocket to pay the bill, but instead unintentionally fired the pistol he was carrying in his pants.

The gunfire struck his girlfriend in the upper leg. The couple left the restaurant in an attempt to seek medical care, but on the way, Ciccarelli pulled into a plaza parking lot at Walden Avenue and Galleria Drive where the female contacted Cheektowaga Police requesting medical assistance.

An officer arrived and placed a tourniquet on the female’s leg. She was then transported to Erie County Medical Center for a non-life-threatening injury.

Ciccarelli was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
