Buffalo man pleads guilty in hit-and-run crash

A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to second degree assault in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured another driver nearly three years ago.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Larry Jones, 42, admitted to driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed on Masten Avenue on June 26, 2017 when he caused a crash with another vehicle.

The other vehicle then hit a garage, a parked car and a tree, causing serious injury to its occupant. The victim spent several months at Buffalo General Medical Center, undergoing surgeries and physical therapy and continuing to recover to this day.

Jones fled from the scene and was later arrested. He was released under the supervision of probation and faces up to seven years in prison at his sentencing on May 4.
