Buffalo teen gets maximum in University District murder

A Buffalo teen has been sentenced to 25 years in prison plus five years of post-release supervision for a murder in the city's University District last year.

Damoni Alexander, 18, admitted to shooting Brandon Williams, 20, on Lisbon Avenue Sept. 29, 2018.

Alexander pleaded guilty to a first degree manslaughter charged back in March. The 25 years is the maximum prison sentence he could have received for the charge.

Co-defendant Anthony Moore, 19, also pleaded guilty to a first degree manslaughter charge in the case. Authorities say Moore provided Alexander with the gun, and told him to shoot the victim during a verbal altercation.
