Deadly overnight claims two lives on Buffalo's East Side

Buffalo Police are investigating three shootings over the weekend - two of them fatal.

The first happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the first block of Eller Avenue, near the Cheektowaga border. Police say a 31-year-old female was struck multiple times by gunfire and transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment, where she later died.

The second shooting happened just after 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Broadway, near the Central Terminal. Detectives say a 38-year-old man was struck by gunfire and transported to ECMC, but he later died.

The third shooting happened just before 1 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Hoyt Street on the city's West Side. Polcie say a man, believed to be in his early 20s, was struck by gunfire and his injuries appear serious.
