Hamlin, NY man charged with injuring deputy after Bills game

Erie County Sheriff's Department

A Hamlin, NY man has been charged in a hit-and-run collision that injured an Erie County Sheriff's deputy after a Buffalo Bills game last month.

The Sheriff's Department says Lee Gill Jr., 35, has been charged with a misdeanor count of leaving the scene of an accident and a vehicle and traffic violation for failing to obey a police officer in the Nov. 25 incident.

Authorities had been looking for the dark-colored Ford F250 truck that hit the deputy directing traffic at Big Tree Road and Route 219 after the Bills-Jaguars game. The deputy was treated at Erie County Medical Center for an arm injury and released later that night.

The Sheriff's department says Gill turned himself in to crash investigators at Orchard Park Court and will have additional court proceedings.
