Authorities seeking victims, after MD arrested for child porn

Finger Lakes Health

Buffalo's Homeland Security office is looking for the public's help after the arrest of a Newark, NY physician on child pornography charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Rossie said, if convicted, 69-year-old Dr. David Blasczak is facing five-to-20 years in prison for the purchase of thousands of images from a fee-based child porn website. Rossie said the physician also is alleged to have taken photographs of some of his young patients.

Blasczak is a physician with the Clyde Family Health Center in Clyde, NY, but is currently being detained. He also has been nearly eliminated from the website of Finger Lakes Health, the parent company of the health center.

However, a 2016 press release about his hiring remains:

"Dr. Blasczak has been practicing in Clyde for more than 35 years, first in a private, solo practice and then at Arcadia Family Medicine. Finger Lakes Health acquired the Clyde portion of the Arcadia Family Medicine practice effective January 4. Dr. Blasczak will continue to see his patients from the Arcadia practice, as well as the Clyde Family Health Center patients -- all at Finger Lakes Health’s Clyde facility."

Finger Lakes said Blasczak earned his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. His online medical profile also includes affiliations with Newark-Wayne Community and Rochester General hospitals.

Anyone with information related can call Buffalo's Homeland Security office at 464-5931. Rossie said the office can provide help for victims and witnesses.
