Buff State students warned of attempted burglary, stalking

Buffalo State College

Buffalo State College has sent out a suspicious person warning to all students. Police are looking for 51-year-old Willie Caldwell in an attempted burglary and stalking that occurred Wednesday morning at the off-campus residence of a female student.

Police suspect Caldwell - who is not a student at the college - attempted to force his way into the student’s residence around 1 a.m. Wednesday. The student yelled for assistance and the suspect fled the scene.

Unharmed, the student told police she encountered Caldwell on campus earlier in the evening at the E. H. Butler Library, when he approached her at a study table. The student left the library and walked home, only to find the suspect standing outside of her residence.

Any Buffalo State student on campus with information is asked to contact college police at 878-6333 or Buffalo Police at 851-4413.
